New Year

N

Every few years we update the look around here. Many thanks as always to Alex Tong who has this ability to listen to an idea that I have, and just create it! We decided to combine my blog and our Valor Triathlon Coaching pages for simplicity. I will have our coaching page updated with all of our coaches bios in the next few weeks!

We are in this weird stage of life. Luc has finished his first semester of college, is working and preparing for his first marathon. Suddenly gone are the after school cross country and track practices. Gone are the twice weekly races and epic days at indoor track events. I have that feeling of being so grateful that they happened, that it overshadows the feeling of sadness that those days are behind us.

I still can’t believe that they are!

I have never been one to live in the past. I am more of a “when one door closes another opens” type of person. This new chapter has been really neat. I love watching our son become an independent young man. I admire his work ethic and his perseverance more than anything. Nothing on this earth comes easy to him, yet he has this persistence and positiveness about him that is awe inspiring.

I am in my sixth year of teaching nursing, third at MCC, and I love it. I get to work with students that I would never meet if it not were for a community college. I wish I could articulate it better but these people literally blow my mind every single day. What a privilege to be able to work with them. This career path was never something I planned on but goodness I love it.

Thanks to this next phase of life I am back to more focused training with a new love for the sport that has brought me all around the world and connected me with the most amazing human beings. I am so freaking proud to be 45 and still loving this and still finding new paths, new goals and new people.

As we embark on 2020, it feels a good time to ring it in with a new website, a new focus, a new season of sorts!

Stay tuned, I will have more writing coming in the new year. Maybe this is the year I finish that book!
